A petition calling for Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley, Governor NSW, and key ministers in charge of planning and local government to setup a Public Enquiry on,

  1. compromised SNPP determinations, 
  2. collusion between SNPP and Lane Cove council to approve a rejected DA, to enable LCC profit $32M,
  3. anti-competitive clandestine $32M lease assignment from Australian Unity to Pathways Residences (Longueville The Village Pty Ltd) with a possible $10M unaccounted for.
  4. Lane Cove Council handling of major projects including but not limited to 266 Longueville rd, the sports and recreation center and Bob Campbell Oval.
  5. Disenfranchisement of Lane Cove residents due to lack of genuine public consultation.

The SNPP has a legal previlage where the public have no right of merit appeal, and only a right of procedural review. In such as context it is paramount the it acts with integrity and has the confidence of the public. Furthermore, when there is evidence that suggests compromise, it is held accountable through a public enquiry.

While the petition specifically mentions the 266 Longueville rd determination, please quote determination reference numbers and provide some details of any other questionable SNPP determinations in the optional comment field.

Call for a Public Enquiry on compromised SNPP determinations, and Lane Cove Council major projects

Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley, Governor NSW, Wendy Tuckerman the Minister of Local Government and Anthony Roberts Minister of Planning and Chris Minns leader of the opposition, 

we, the undersigned no longer have confidence in the SNPPs ability to make determinations with integrity without bias and compromise; and the Lane Cove Council's ability to carry out its duties impartially, with due deligence and due care toward all Lane Cove residents.

We ask,  

  • that you hold Sydney North Planing Panel and Lane Cove Council accountable by means of a public enquiry on
    • questionable inconsistent SNPP determinations not based on planning criteria but other interests, in a context where the public has no right of merit appeal. It should include but not be limited to determinations PPS-2017SNH069 & SCC2020LANEC-2.
    • to investigate negligence and collusion between SNPP and LCC to approve a rejected DA, to enable LCC profit $32m, with devestating impacts to the surrounding 46 families.
    • and the highly irregular assignment of the lease from Australian Unity to Longueville The Village Pty Ltd, a private company associated with Pathways Residences, where a possible $10M is unaccounted for.
    • Investigate disenfranchisement of the community due to the lack of genuine consultation with regard to all Lane Cove Council Major projects including but not limited to.
    1. 266 Longueville rd
    2. Sports and recreation center
    3. Bob Campbell oval
  • that you protect the surrounding 46 families and environment conservation zone, by acting to revoke the DA for 266 longueville rd, so a DA approval process with integrity and without compromise may take place.
